I’ve been building for the web since 2019, starting with internal tools at a facility management company in Dubai. Since 2021 I’ve worked in shipping: first building the deal platform for an offshore shipbroking team, and now internal tools for one of the world’s largest shipbroking firms. I work mostly in React, TypeScript, Node.js and PostgreSQL.

Most recently I built an AI lookup that researches any vessel on the web and brings back sourced results, right inside the broker’s database.

- Built an AI vessel lookup: a broker clicks any vessel in the database and the app researches it on the web, returning the findings with their sources so they can be checked.
- Build and maintain internal tools for the brokers across the stack: React front ends, Node.js/Express APIs, PostgreSQL.
- Deploy and run the applications on Microsoft Azure.
- Provide ongoing technical consulting and improvements to existing internal systems.

Offshore Maritime Platform

The internal platform an offshore shipbroking team runs its deals on, from a charterer’s requirement, to a shortlist of suitable vessels, to the signed fixture. React and TypeScript with Redux-Saga on the front end, and a Node.js/Express API over PostgreSQL.

Requirements: capture and track what each charterer needs
Shortlisting: build and compare shortlists of suitable vessels for a requirement
Fixtures: record agreed charters so the team has one history of every deal
